Photo Weston 24 is a photography programme that cultivates collaborations between local community groups and internationally celebrated photographers. Through our partnership with Bristol Photo Festival we will support the development of new works to be exhibited in Weston-super-Mare.
In our first edition we are working with:
MICHAL IWANOWSKI, author of the acclaimed works ‘Clear of People’ and ‘Go Home Polish’. Michal will be supporting the production of photographic projects with service users of Refugees Welcome North Somerset.
JEM SOUTHAM - one of the most critically respected British Photographers - to curate outcomes of a community collaboration exploring our relationship with the Severn Estuary.
NIGEL POOR - the American visual artist, educator and co-founder of the Pulitzer prize nominated ‘Ear Hustle’ - whose work with incarcerated people at San Quentin State prison will be shown alongside works in progress from The Prison Mobile Library.
